Nicole Simpson
Nicole Simpson has been a Print Specialist for over ten years. She received her B.A. in Art History from the University of Chicago and her M.A. from the Institute of Fine Arts. She is currently a Chancellor's Fellow at the Graduate Center, CUNY and is working on her PhD with a focus on 19th century printmaking. She previously worked in the Print Room at the New York Public Library, where she curated a number of exhibits on subjects including James McNeil Whistler, American historical prints and cliche-verres. She also worked as a specialist in the Prints & Multiples department at Christie's and contributed to all aspects of the department, including appraisals, business getting and catalogue production. She is very involved in education and is an adjunct faculty member at the Cooper Union, where she teaches a variety of courses on the history of printmaking. Most recently, she guest curated an exhibit on the lithographs of Currier & Ives.
